At Miriam Dach Paws, every Dachshund puppy comes home with a comprehensive health guarantee for your peace of mind. Within 10 days of receiving your puppy, we require you to schedule a full examination with a licensed veterinarian. If the vet determines that your puppy is clinically ill or has passed away due to an injury or illness that likely existed on or before the date of sale, please notify us immediately so we can assist you.
We carefully ensure that every Dachshund puppy is healthy, thriving, and free from communicable diseases at the time of adoption. Our responsibility doesn’t end when your puppy goes home—we remain committed to supporting you. While we cannot guarantee that a health issue will never arise, we confidently assure you that your puppy has been raised with love, proper care, and responsible breeding practices from the very beginning.
We understand that no puppy can ever truly be replaced, but we stand behind the health of every Dachshund we raise. If your puppy passes away within one year of birth due to a hereditary or congenital condition, or is diagnosed with a severe genetic disorder that affects its quality of life, we offer a replacement Dachshund puppy of equal value at no additional cost. A licensed veterinarian must provide written documentation of the diagnosis or cause of death.
Your role in maintaining your Dachshund’s health is essential. To support your puppy’s well-being, please follow these guidelines:
Submit a copy of your puppy’s initial veterinary exam within four business days of arrival.
Do not vaccinate your puppy for the first 10 days after arrival, as they come with current, age-appropriate vaccinations.
Continue regular de-worming, vaccinations, and health checkups up to at least 16 weeks of age, or as recommended by your veterinarian.
These steps ensure your puppy remains protected and keep your health guarantee valid.
While we provide thorough health protections, certain factors are outside the scope of our guarantee:
Temperament, behavior, size, weight, color, markings, or breeding ability
Weight-related health issues, including those caused by overfeeding (Dachshunds are prone to hip and back issues)
Failure to maintain routine veterinary care or timely vaccinations
Veterinary costs related to spaying, neutering, or undescended testicles
Before leaving for their new home, each Dachshund puppy receives a full health evaluation from a licensed veterinarian. Our Veterinary Health Report includes checks of:
Heart and lungs
Eyes, skin, and coat
Teeth, mouth, and gums
Muscles, joints, and overall structure
Ears, gastrointestinal system, and urogenital health
This examination is performed close to your puppy’s departure date to ensure the health report reflects their current condition. To complete the health guarantee process, your puppy must also be examined by a licensed veterinarian within four days of arrival.
At Miriam Dach Paws, your puppy’s health, safety, and happiness are our top priorities. We are here to support you before, during, and long after your Dachshund joins your family.
